I painted this piece in anticipation of the Certified Lover Boy album. It was an exercise of detail to capture the intricacies on his jacket and sweater. Capturing the materiality of his garments was challenging, but I learned a lot from observing the nuances of light while painting it. The exploration of colour was inspired by the Certified Lover Boy music video, and I tried to push some of the tones in his skin to push my understanding of chroma. The flower adornment was purely an aesthetic choice but I did choose lotus flowers as the flowers of choice because they vaguely resemble owl’s wings to me.

Can I make changes to my order after it’s been placed?
We do everything we can to fulfill orders quickly and unfortunately cannot guarantee being able to make updates after an order has been placed. These changes include removing or adding products and/or changing the delivery address. How long do shipments usually take?
Shipments in North America take around 10 days on average, and shipments outside North America takes around 11 - 20!
How does the work get packaged and shipped?
12x16, 16x20, and 18x24in prints are securely packaged in a plastic sleeve with a cardboard backing inside a rigid mailer.
24x36in prints are securely rolled in acid-free tissue paper, and shipped in a rigid cardboard tube.
