These prints are also exclusively designed with a white matte border around the art to add a subtle layer of luxury, and accentuate the colours on the smaller print size.

Here we have a young Palestinian girl garbed in a traditional embroidered thobe, holding her homeland’s flag and a bouquet of poppies - the land’s national flower, while surrounded by Palestine sunbirds - a newer national symbol of the land.

Her face is covered by olives and Jaffa oranges, fruits that represent the rich agricultural history of Palestine. Israeli settlers illegally displaced 70,000 people living in the thriving region of Jaffa during the 1948 Nakba, completely disrupting and seizing the prized citrus export that was heralded across the globe. And in a continuous effort to further destroy Palestinian agricultural livelihood, Israeli settlers have uprooted and set ablaze to more than 800,000 olive trees since the 60s.

These are bold cultural symbols, markers of her heritage, yet they mask her identity. She is anonymous, and could be anyone’s daughter, sister, or friend. This is to symbolize the 6,404 unseen children who have been killed to date (as of Nov 14th) during the present day genocide…

While printing all the artwork, one of the prints came out with a beautiful glitch effect due to an unknown mechanical error. I felt like it should be celebrated because of the importance of "variants" in Across the Spiderverse. Since it cannot be reproduced, this will be sold as the "Variant 1 of 1 Edition" to the highest bidder.

Bidding will begin at 7PM EST on Sept 14, and extended until 11:59PM EST Sept 15.

I watched Across the Spiderverse 4 times because I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Each time I walked out of the film, I found myself feeling like I learned something new about colour and a wealth of inspiration that I had to channel into my own artwork. I had a strong image in my head of Gwen and Miles soaring over a slanted opalescent New York. The piece is a far departure from my usual work and really challenged me to learn a lot of new techniques, but this was an intentional move to push myself to tap into the things that truly inspire me!

This is a 1 of 1 collector's edition canvas of my painting for the Home is Toronto collaboration with Peace Collective. It is a canvas print of my digital painting embellished with oil paint marks to accentuate the colour and texture of the CN Tower deck! This is the first canvas that has recieved this type of technical, traditional treatment which adds to its rarity.

Here is a first look at the piece I designed for my Peace Collective collab. Toronto is the city in which my art was born. So it was a tremendous honour to collaborate on this design with one of the city’s most iconic brands!

I was inspired by an image of the CN Tower piercing through the clouds on a foggy day. I saw the perfect opportunity to translate the soft clouds into a bed of lilacs with Peace Collective’s notorious slogan “Home is Toronto” embedded in the sky. Finally. the yellow orbs represent the steady emergence of bright new talent in the city.

Nashid Chroma Jcole Art

I first discovered J.Cole in 2011 and fell in love with his nostalgic instrumentals and velvety flow. When I conceptualized this piece, I wanted to showcase how epic his growth was using a palette that was inspired by how his music made me feel. This was one of the hardest compositions to resolve because it was my first “double portrait” where I used two images of Cole. I was able to use a double exposure effect to fit the cover of Forest Hills Drive into a powerful side profile portrait of the legend - representing his “heart” and “mind”. I used dogwood flowers to mask his faces since they’re the state flower of North Carolina and speak to where he discovered his love for music.

Who is Nashid Chroma?

Nashid Chroma is a Toronto-Based Digital Pop Artist and his work explores the threshold between the Iconic and the Anonymous.

The compositions and visual motifs are inspired by each icon’s upbringing, influences, or the emotions that they evoke from their performances. Floral and geometric adornments are loaded with meaning to humanize the person in question, but they also visually abstract the portraits to feel disconnected and object-like.

Finally, Nashid uses bright saturated colour as an aesthetic anchor to bind his body of work into a cohesive collection. Chroma refers to the colourfulness of something and he continuously explores new ways to push the boundaries of colour in every new work he produces
